I have just finished watching this show on TV. It is fascinating. One of the hosts is the ever-green TV chef Ken Hom. Ken, the Toishan boy, has been around for years on the small screen. This time, he and his co-host travel the length and breadth of China to film this culinary adventure. If you haven't seen it, now is your chance. I'll be keenly anticipating episode 2 . www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/video/13275203846/Exploring-China-A-Culinary-Adventure-Ep1

Douglas and Tyuti, Thank you so much for posting the links on this fantastic show! I was late going to work this morning because I just could not stop watching it!
Besides the fantastic food and cooking lessons, seeing the different towns and villages and even going inside of peoples homes is the best possible way of discovering everything Chinese! I have never been inside of a real traditional Chinese family's home (or any Chinese persons home).

Wow wow wow! Towards the end of the 4th video, Ken Hom goes to Kaiping and his moms village in Fusan.....they are doing Ching Ming! I've never seen a real Ching Ming before! This is GREAT! Now my brother and I can do a real Ching Ming for my dad this April (instead of our made up version)..........

We don't get to see much of Ken Hom now, he is aging and so are we. We get plenty of Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson, Delia Smith, Gordon Ramsay, Heston Bloomenthal, Nick Stein and co. I do watch some cooking shows, (though I don't cook at all,) especially local talents like Luke Nguyen and Kylie Kwong. Luke Nguyen and kylie Kwong's road shows are great television. I like location shots of Asia, the street food, the green fields, waterways, animals etc. It is so alive and vibrant. Kylie Kwong had a series called My China, it was very popular. Her family has been in Australia for generations. www.kyliekwong.org/default.aspx This next link is about her great grandfather en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kwong_Sue_Duk He could have easily been lost to the US and not Australia. In one episode, she returned to her great grandfather's village in Toishan the first time, and cooked for the small village. Fay Chee, take note.
