My goodness, what priceless collection of old photos of China. I looked at old Peking with particular interest because many of the place names are familiar to me, having spent close to a fortnight there with my family in 2008.
The ruins of Yuan Ming Yuen is particularly outstanding because the shell of a stately building is still standing then. From memory, nothing substantial remains after years of plundering. All usable building materials were scavenged off. I wish there was a way to go back in time to look at the old city as it was before the mad rush to demolish all the city walls and passes.
