jschikan, then looks like 迴龍里 huilongli is your village.
I will post a map showing the approximate location for you. Not far from the Szeto Library.

lachinatown:
Thank you.
The coordinates: 22.325301, 112.588972 are perfect for the Situ Library. The pin drops right onto the clock tower on the satellite view for Google Earth Pro.

Thank you. Well done. Very nice.
I will try to view the circled places on a satellite map to see if I can spot the villages and/or gates.

lachinatown:
I haven't been able to see/locate the specific villages on Google Earth Pro satellite view. Is there anything else I can provide to get more specific GPS location of the villages?
Is it possible to obtain specific village GPS locations or is it difficult to narrow down with current software?
As you mentioned and as I have experienced, GPS coordinates for satellite views differ from GPS coordinates for the mapping view.
Thank you,
jsChikan

OK fine folks: If you would, I have another village to find coordinates for. Please provide the coordinates of the village that is indicated on the little sheet of paper in the photo. I believe it is a Wong village located in Nam Hang (Nam Hung?), Taishan,China. Thank you, js

Thank you for the Nam Hang (Hung?) GPS coordinates. Please take a look at my Google Earth Pro results and check if the yellow pin is at the expected place. Thank you.

jschikan, The village name label (Nankengcun) is shown just below your yellow pin. The village is the row of houses shown. BTW, in Cantonese 坑 is pronounced "hang" or "keng" in Pinyin (Mandarin). twoupman houseofchinn.com

Well, thank you for all that. I appreciate the info. We are planing a return to Chikan & Kaiping area. I will have an in-law that will be looking for a Wong ancestral home in that village in Taishan. Having spotted it or the general area on a map will be helpful. Now, for a Tang Village in Chikan area, I am still struggling with the GPS coordinates for a group of Tang ancestral homes. I want to be able to spot the village from Google Earth Pro satellite view. I have additional information that may useful with identify the precise GPS location. I have been provided coordinates, but my inexperience leaves me not able to pinpoint on a satellite view. So any additional help for you folks will be great. A. In what I believe to be "Hoiping dialect", the romanized village name is: Tung Hing, Hoiping, China. B. My avatar is the "gate" to the village. C. These 2 photos show the gate again and also shows the little road leading to the village gate. Note: If I recall correctly, the village gate is right at the edge of the road: Thank you, js

Exact location is hard to get unless you know the village. On a map, it all depends on the map maker, who put on the labels. Example on your village 南坑, various maps have placed on different locations. Google map puts it just east of S273 road. One map puts it on west side of S273. Another map has two 南坑 villages, 南坑村 just east of S273, but a 南坑 just west of S49 the national highway. Printed maps have 南坑 as close to the middle of these two roads.

I didn't realize how confusing it can be.
I was hoping to spot the group of Tang homes that we visited last month on Google Earth Pro's satellite view. This way, I should be able to go there myself when I return next year.
1. Is there anything in the photo that will allow you to tell me if the gate in the photo is located on a public roadway OR if it is a driveway?
2. I'll try to contact my cousin that drove us around...perhaps she can tell us the name or number of the road that leads to the area. Is there anything specific I should be asking?
Thank you,
jsChikan

lachinatown:
Please confirm that I am correctly interpreting the map in your earlier message:
1. Chikan business area by Situ Library = SooHoo business building.
2. Xinlou by Chikanzhen = SooHoo Village (I can confirm by comparing my photos with the satellite view from your provided coordinates. I clearly see the SooHoo gate, house, trees & water pond.)
3. Huilongli by G325 = Tang Village? (This is the one I am having difficulty finding on the satellite view.)
Thanks again,
jsChikan

jsChikan: I do not use googleearth, so I can't compare anything. Seems that google earth give more details. Most Chinese maps do not give much satellite details, block the zoom at certain level. 1. I have no personal information about SooHoo business building, all I can find is the Library shown on all the maps. Do believe it is located there. 2. 新樓村 / Sun Lau / Xīn Lóu Cūn (司徒 / Seto / Sī Tú) per Villagedb, a SooHoo village 3. 迴龍里 / Wui Lung Lay / Huí Lóng Lǐ (鄧 / Tang / Dèng) Huilongli is a Tang village.
Why can't you cousin draw you a map of the route you went and label the villages? That way we can compare. Map should labeled with the roads and road numbers. Isn't that better than coordinates?

大樓村 / Tai Lau / Dà Lóu Cūn (鄧 / Tang / Dèng) is a Tang village per villagedb. Can you tell me how far is it in relation to Situ Library? Is the coordinates I gave you the approximate location? I thought I found the village, but the road leading to the gate (assumed) is not straight, but with a little curve. Also can't understand the tall buildings at the end of the road. Are they from a village not immediately adjacent to the Tang village.
Your picture does not indicate buildings on the right side. So what is on the right side, ponds or buildings?
