I am trying to help my brother-in-law work on his family history. Multiple US. Records indicate his father came from Hit Gong village, Hok San district, China. His mother was from Xinhui.
His mother was from Xinhui, Lung Heent, Dai Jock,Canton, China
I am trying to find both places on a map.
I can not locate Hit Gong village or Hok San district. Any help would be appreciated.

Hey Ginny,
Great to hear from you again!
Did a little Google search with Chinese characters that sound similar to the Taishanese phonetics which you've provided. Here's what I've found...
Lung Heent: 新會 大澤 龍田 Lung Hin, Tai Chak, Sunwui Longtian, Da’ze, Xinhui
Hit Gong: 鶴山 共和 鐵岡 Hit Gong, Gong Wo, Hoksan Tie'gang, Gonghe, Heshan
According to this Sina blog post ( link), Hit Gong is a 呂/Lui/Lv clan village - is this correct?
Strangely, the Village Database does not list a Lung Hin village in Tai Chak, so I'm unsure what the clan name is here. Please take a look at the Tai Chak list of villages ( link)- are any of the family names here the one that you are looking for?
Here's the two villages in Google Maps ( link).
Best,
Jason

Hey Jason
So glad to see you are still on the boards. My whole family now knows of all the help you gave me while working on my husband's line. They are all very appreciative and realize how lucky I was to find not only this site, but for all the wonderful people on the site to help me navigate the research. They now have the published work of all my research. This pushed my brother-in-law to ask for help on his own line. Amazingly I found all the interviews on his father's line that they did with the US Government for the Chinese Exclusion. Fascinating area that I didn't touch on my own family research as they entered as refugees.
I think you again hit pay dirt on my brother-in-law's father's village. His surname is Louie. 呂
His mother was a Jung 鍾 - the same surname as my husband's family.
Hope all is well with you.
Ginny

Ginny, Always glad to help! The Village Database tells us that 5 villages in Tai Chak are inhabited by the Chung clan. When cross-referencing with Google Maps, 3 of these villages are within a 2 kilometre radius of Lung Hin! Hope you and your family are continuing to enjoy this root-tracing journey. Let me know if you have any other questions. Cheers, Jason

The Louie family married into the LING 凌 family. They married in China so I suspect it was a neighboring village to the Louie family.
Is Hok San, Heet Kong , Canton, China in the same name as Hit Gong?
Hit Gong: 鶴山 共和 鐵岡 Hit Gong, Gong Wo, Hoksan Tie'gang, Gonghe, Heshan
Ginny
I'm also trying to get a pictorial view of the map of the area. Any suggestions?
