The record showed that he landed in Vancouver on Sept. 15, 1918, via MV. Princess Victoria Ex Suwa Maru. He was age 17, came as a student, and paid $500 head tax. He came from Fow Sack 浮石(Translated: Floating Rock). He was issued a Certificate of Identity (C.I.5) No. 85907. His visible identify features included: 5'5"1/2 [tall] Mole spit R. forehead Small mole under L. ear Scar above L. ear in hair He came 5 years before the Chinese Exclusion Act, invoked on July 1, 1923. The year of the Rabbit, 2023 is the 100th "anniversary" of this discrimatory act. Happy New Year!
