Finding roots of 林喜泉 Línxǐquán from ChaoZhou

Hello,
This is my first post. I’d like some help to find my maternal ancestral roots - my grandfather (maternal side) was born in Chaozhou 潮州市 (TeoChew), Guang Dong, China. His birth name was 林喜泉 Línxǐquán and was born around 1900-1910. Around 1930 he migrated to Muar, Malaysia and changed his name to 郑遠周 Zheng(Tay)yuǎnzhōu. My mother 郑輝月 Zheng (Tay) Hwee Guek was born in Muar.

Which Teochew? Good old 海陽縣 (Teochw "proper" /府城/ 潮州市) or 潮州府 zh.wikipedia.org/zh-my/%E6%BD%AE%E5%B7%9E%E5%BA%9C
Pls research deeper at least into market town level ,otherwise the chance finding someone with such #1 surname among Teochew speaking area is very slim
