Hello everyone, Im looking for information on my Great great great great grandfather, who was Chinese. I don't know fully, a lot about Chinese culture as Ethnically I am gipsy European so forgive me for the ignorance.
I have some information on him:
From what I know his name was Ahung Chun, but I've seen variations such as, Hung Ahung Chun or just Hung Chun.
He was born around 1803. he came from Macau and had a son there named Ahchoc Hung, both moved to Hawaii sometime in the 1820s, though from I've read, Ahchoc eventually moved back to Macau. His Jaipu (I believe that is right) is "陳恒". He died in Hawaii in 1845. Im not sure which village he was from.

Thanks for the information Henry! I know he died on January 27th 1845, and he was has 2 possible locations of burial.
From what I read earlier, his cousin Asing Bak Sing, took over his store after Ahung died but eventually went back a village called Guhe (anglized as Goo Hawk) in Guangdong. Someone who did research on Ahung said hes may have come from Guhe.

Hi rbernadsky,
As you probably know, Chun Ahung was a wealthy Chinese and most known for being the father of Rebecca Hualani Ahung Brickwood. His ancestral village is Goo Hok 古鶴. I just visited Goo Hok last August because my ancestors (Hong 馮) were also from there.

I too am looking for the family of my grandfather from China. I don't know exactly where he was born, because he passed away way before I was born but all my mother remembers is that he said he was born in China, last name Lee Chee we do not know if it's the correct spelling that they used but he is buried in Samoa Ah See Lee Chee. I have a feeling that the first name or last name isn't spelled correctly as to why I am in need of help of finding if he has any family in China. I want to get to know his family because I wasn't able to get to know him. I would love the help if anyone knows or have the same family surname as ours.
