Hi Everyone,
I am from the USA so I speak very little Chinese. I have adopted 3 Chinese children from different parts of China. My oldest son wants to search for his birthparents. All three children have disabilities. This son was abandoned at 2 months old (estimated by orphanage) in the area near Eastern Xuzhou. The village was called Gushan village and he was abandoned near the west bridge. He has been in the USA since May of 2008. His feet were deformed and I thought this was why he was abandoned.
We have done dna and added to 23 and me, FTDNA, my heritage, gedmatch.com, 23 mofang and wegene. We have no close relatives on any of these sites. I have told my son we may never find any relatives. We did a ydna test through the Chinese police. We are in the national database of China. We know where we match a paternal haplogroup. We know the village name and surname he belongs to. When the area was searched (it wasn't huge) , no one knows whose child he is. I have a list of relatives but they do not include anyone that is the correct age to be his birthfather. All the men this age work outside the village or have moved. We have also heard rumors that he is the product of an affair. I understand some people don't want kids born with deformities, but he is fully able to walk with prosthetics. He didn't ask to be born. His adoptive parents support him searching. We just do not know where else to search. We do not know how closely related the people on the list are. Nobody will share this with us. We have a potential birthfather but he has moved to another city. My only hope is that maybe the birthmom wanted him because she kept him 2 months. If it was an affair, the wife may or may not know. Please no comments about he doesn't need to look for the birth parents or adoptive parents are the REAl parents. He is 17 and has every right to know his roots. If the parents want no contact that is fine. We need to know so we can stop searching. Thank you for any help
