I'm a 15 yr old ABC that just became interested in my heritage. My dad has always told me that there wasn't any records so i'm pretty interested.
My dad's side of the family came from Toisan Bok Sah (white sand in cantonese) cha yoon choon. I'm interested in finding more info about this village. What does cha yoon choon mean and where can i find more info? Thanks

An interesting post. I am also looking for information about that area but this time the surname is Chan Hap Sing Fong, Pak Sar. However when I follow the steps it doesn't give me any information.
Could someone please help?
Thank you.

Alexandra, I did a search of Pak Sar and Sun Pak Sar. It came up with surnames Ma and Wong only. Do you have a village name by any chance?

Thank you for looking for me. I had Hap SIng Fong written down so I thought that this was the village but I could be wrong. Initially I thought that Pak Sar was a village but after reading some postings I don't think that this is correct.
Thank you for your help.

Pak Sar is a Heung, a rural district and within it are villages. You had Chan Hap Sing Fong which I assumed was surname Chan but the Hap Sing Fong is not clear. Could it be a 4 character name? I did a search based on surname Chan but the results do not include Pak Sar at all. If you can provide more information in Chinese it would help.

Thank you once again. I have it written in Chinese characters and I will get this scanned.
You are right that Chan is the surname. I was also told that some of the characters read Hap Sing Fong, Pak Sar so I thought that this was the village of Hap Sing Fong in the area of Pak Sar.
When I get the imagine scanned I will post it and would be greatful if you could look at it for me.
Thank you.

Alexandra, are you related to June Chan of Queensland, Australia? The information you are seeking is the same as that I assisted her with some time ago. Your Pak Sar is actually in the City of Jiangmen and not in Taishan county. Hap Sing Fong is actually the name of a lane (Fong) called Hap Sing. Pak Sar is named after a local personage called Chan Pak Sar. Apparently Pak Sar is a Chan surname area in Jiangmen. I think you should contact June at mai_ling@aapt.net.au. She has already visited the place with her husband about a year ago, and I am sure she will gladly share her information with you since you appear to be realted.
