Posted on: Tue 16 Dec 2003 01:18:07 PM ESTGreetings, I am from the Sese House. Sese as written in Pinyin, originally Xie Xie and even before that as Xie4. I am from the Philippines and I am on a (self) project to create our genealogy. I don't know much which websites to search (been searching for a long time already) and where to go. Hope anyone here are my Xie4 Clan relatives. Thank you very much. Sese Xie Xie. ÁÂÁÂ

I believe you had discovered your surname, se, has been spelled in a number of ways. Stay the course by sticking to the Chinese character and the meaning of the character. In your case the doubling up can and do throw a ringer.
You are seeking information on your ggggf. You aren't sure whether he went to Pampanga directly from China or not. Now do you have the year of his arrival? What about his age at the time? What about his grave, do you or your relatives have access to it? The tombstone may disclose his place of origin. Since you are in the Philippines, my guess is he was from Fujin.
Taiwan and Fujin are separated by a strait and there are numerous islands along the way then it isn't surprising that a large portion of Taiwan's population traces their roots to Fujin. Your ggggf could've come from Taiwan or spent time there before heading to the Philippines.
That's correct! There is only one Xie (Tse) clan in this world.
