Hello. I recently came across some information on the Fu/Foo lineage that origated from Hainan Island. I am looking for any Fu/Foo descendents whose family is still in Hainan. I'd like to look up the "Middle Name" poems so I can see what generation we are. Thanks!

Lisa... Foo interests me... I have an old Ah Foo, came to Australia in 1871 and bcame a gold miner and a shop keeper [aka John Foo; John Fook;Ah Fook] I have some of his naturalisation stuff and land records in Australia... he had a fiancee and a child but I can't find details of them... also don't know how to track him back into China [he was ex-Canton; that's all I know]
Any tips'd help
Regards

Hi Lisa,
I'm just getting into family history myself, and my uncle just came back from Hainan and brought back our Fu family history book. Unfortunately, I don't read Chinese, so I can't decipher what it says. But I'd be happy to scan the introductory pages for you if you want to read it. How do I get in contact with you?

Hi Lisa, I just looked back on my records, and found the generation name poem. It's actually found in a very detailed Fu/Foo generation website www.geocities.com/Tokyo/3919/s251.htmlAlso tells about the history of how the Fus ended up in Hainan. Hope this helps. C.C.
