"Chinese-Canadians searching for their roots in this country have had a tough time. Now a new wiki will help Chinese-Canadians, and others, research their ancestors and tell their stories. This project was created in partnership with the Canadian Genealogy Centre and the University of British Columbia, and was partly funded by the Department of Canadian Heritage through its Canadian Culture Online Program. This database includes over 98,000 references to Chinese immigrants who arrived in Canada between 1885 and 1949. Site visitors can search by name or year of arrival to view a digitized image of the immigration record.
