My ancester is from Toisan, shui harm toon but I am unable to find it from the village database search. My surname is Chan. Anyone from this village?

not sure, but in pinyin it like this" shui keng chon", but lately some relative said it is also call "sam butt chon" .

Your "Shui Keng Chon" in Pinyin is actuall Shuikengcun which is Sui Hang Chuen (means Water Trench Village) in Cantonese and is located in Chung Poon Heung in the town of Sanba (Sam Baat which means 38) as shown here: www.taishan.com/jrts/images/map/sanba.gif.

Here is the link again: www.taishan.com/jrts/images/map/sanba.gif where you will see the name of the Heung call Chung Bun which is in the town (zhen) of Sanba. Your village of Suikeng (Shui Hang) is in Chung Bun Heung.
