Hello My name is Chan Kam Keong from Kuala Lumpur Malaysia. I am headed to Taishan this coming Sept. Is there anyone I can contact in Taishan who would be able to assist me to locate my grand father's home village? I tried to email Jimmy@taishan .com but was returned undelivered.

Just a quick update. I was in Taishan for a few hours visiting the city and had the famous clay pot eel rice. Visited a Chan clan village near Daushan on my way and spoke to some locals. Took some pics of the old buildings and temples. As I only had the name of my grand father and no other details, it would be very difficult to proceed further. Overall it was a great experience to see the local Hoisan spoken widely by all. A nice nice feeling

Anyone from the Fook On village - I have discovered a Jiapu, with generations from 1273 to present. The surname is Gin (aka Yan)

Thanks also to Henry for sharing our family home page.

Helen, Further to my earlier message, my ancestral village is located at ΊC (Shek Hoi), “Œ“ì· (Tung Nam Shing), which is an almalgamation of two sub villages of Tung Sing and Nam Shing. I do have our own Jiapu, which traces our lineage. Gin Sun Hall, our ancestor (CE 1195 - CE 1274) migrated to the Pearl River Delta region at least 31 generations ago. For more info about the Gins, please visit ginsunhall.org/Will be interested to know of other Gins (Yan etc) in the Land of the Long White Cloud, and elsewhere. Regards, Ah Gin

I have your email - and you have the Jiapu!! on your web site - so it's not a big find after all. Congratulations on all the work you guys have done - I'm afraid our Wong project is nowhere near where you are at.
